When attempting to open a Microsoft file from a shared drived, I get an error with the following: "the file is corrupt and cannot be opened", how do I fix this?

For Excel Try the following steps:
- Open Excel.
- Click on File > Options.
- Select Trust Center > Trust center settings.
- Select Protected view.
- Uncheck all the options under Protected View > OK.
- Restart Excel and try to open Excel documents.
For Word Try the following steps:
- Open Word.
- Click on File > Options.
- Select Trust Center > Trust center settings.
- Select Protected view.
- Uncheck all the options under Protected View > OK.
- Restart Word and try to open Word documents.
